Our guest today is Marissa Fayer, a seasoned 20+ year medtech executive, innovator, entrepreneur, investor, and philanthropist.
Marissa is the CEO and founder of the non-profit organization HERhealthEQ, as well as the CEO of DeepLook Medical. She is also an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Graybella Capital and the Co-Chair of the US AI for Good Innovation Factory.
Marissa's mission is to drive innovation and improve the health of women around the world. Through her work with DeepLook Medical, she has commercialized an FDA-cleared technology, secured $2 million in seed funding, and increased the company's publicity through features in Forbes, FemTechInsider, and FemTechWorld. Marissa has also spoken at some of the largest healthcare conferences globally.
At the non-profit HERhealthEQ, Marissa's leadership has enabled the organization to improve the health of 41,000 women across 9 different countries. HERhealthEQ has deployed over 35 pieces of medical equipment, won the PIR.Org Impact Health award in 2023, and raised funds to support the treatment, detection, and prevention of breast cancer, cervical cancer, and maternal health issues for women globally.
Prior to her current roles, Marissa held executive positions at companies like Hologic, Olympus, Maquet-Getting, Providien Medical, and Accumed Innovative Technologies. She has also served as a consultant for many top 500 healthcare companies and innovative startups.
Marissa holds a BS in Manufacturing Engineering from Boston University, an MBA from the University of Connecticut, and a Global Health Innovation Management certification from IESE Business School in Barcelona.
Recognized as a trailblazer in the medtech industry, Marissa has been named one of the Top 100 Women in Medtech, a 2024 MedTech Voice to Watch, and a First in FemTech award winner in 2022, among other accolades. She is also a TEDx speaker and a UCSC Miller Center Social Entrepreneur Fellow.
